Looks like I'll have to spend my 2010 Christmas in that same workplace... Arghhhh!!!! :( Got to suffer more humiliation and disgusting presentations. :'(
One of my better colleagues left end of Sep.... The rest of the ppl left in the lab are.... well.... I'm not as close with them.. Pray that I'll get a new job soon, and leave that place quickly!

Right now, I'm really just living each day by each day. No plan for long term goal or whatsoever. That's sad..I need to take up some classes just for leisure! Am very into Korea and kpop now, so I have the urge to take up Korean classes! But they are just soooo expensive!

My next short term goal is to travel to Korea with my family in 2011, and hopefully, Japan with my frens! Yayy..something to look forward to :D I'll scrimp and save for the trips...... ((:

Out of difficulties, makes miracles! This is a verse I learnt from Burning Flames 3! Been watching the show, abandoned it for some time, and now back to it (due to boring 爱 show 7 days a wk). Loving every moment of the show, ogling at hotties like Kelvin and Bosco... hahaha!

Recently also watched 2 movies: Eclipse and Inception. Cool movies... enjoying my off-work life totally now..

Are we still friends?? Been asked by a friend to be 'witness' for a bond, agreed to do so, but only to find out that it's actually a role of guarantor. Monetary liabilities will be incurred if she decides to break the bond. On hearing this, normal parents will of course discourage children to take up such help. So in the end, I did not help her out. Am just wondering if the friendship is still there.... Sigh~

Work wise, more challenges to face. Whole Chang lab meeting now, no more separate meetings for juniors and seniors-he combined both meetings. :( I'm also volunteered by my direct supervisor to take up a new project, but this will NOT affect my determination to leave that lab!!

Recently I've been watching a lot of soccer matches, esp those with Germans playing haha! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!! They've made it to the semi-finals! :DD Final few matches are all showing at 2.30am, and that means more sleepless nights for me.... Friends are all surprised that I'm actually that into soccer..ya I also can't explain! (:

There're so many things gg through my mind these days. People around me keep feeding me with information, I ponder on what they'd said, and did some amount of my own thinking. All these processes took up sooo much of my time, and took away some of my sleeping hours. Am feeling so lost now...hope everything becomes clear and pleasant soon......

Anyway some new updates... I attended an animal handling course (practical) yesterday. Dealt with mouse, guinea pig, rabbit and rat.. I was so afraid of the mouse's and rat's bite! Don't dare to touch the rat at all... Man they're huge and strong, and they make such terrible squeaking sound when you try to restraint them... So glad that everything is over already!

Went to the Zoo today with my family! Haha..it has been a very long time since I went to the zoo. I heard from my mum that incidentally, today is supposed to be Family Day. That probably explains why the Zoo is so crowded today! Well, the weather was hot, but we've survived walking for 5-6hrs under the hot sun! Rhino and elephant enclosures still have their trademark smell lol..... A good day spent with the family! :D

Colleague farewell

Went out for dinner with colleagues yesterday, for HY and Eunice's farewell. HY has decided to call it a stop to her ~4mths service to the lab, whereas Eunice has completed her FYP, and it's time for her to move on.....

It was a happening night, which started with dinner at Manhattan Fish Market in Marina Sq. 9 of the people shared 3 platters altogether. We've small eaters among us, and all of us ended up wasting some fries in each platter... Lame jokes and small talk comes next.....

After dinner, we moved on to TCC for more beverage, and gossip sharing session.. It's a good source to get juicy news from the other labs this way haha.... Ended the day late at 11.40pm, with my brain so 'high' from late night green tea~ Didn't sleep well last night, I guess it must be the green tea...sigh~

Little actions can make the heart really warm!
A colleague whose last day is on Mon, bought me a cup of milk tea yesterday, when I didn't ask her for 1. I didn't go out with them to buy lunch btw...
She knows that I like the particular shop's (MOE canteen) milk tea, and bought it for me! :D

So touched by the thoughtfulness... Sigh~ but she's leaving already... I have 1 less talking partner :(

Watched Monga with hx and sh yesterday. The movie was amazing!! I like it alot...so happy that they did not subbed all the hokkien part into chinese.. Ok it was really a cheena movie, but I dun care, I do enjoy it! 小天 and Mark showed super performance in the show! 精湛的演技!
In one of the crying scenes, 小天 was able to do it really well (even though it was kinda disgusting with the mucus coming out :p). In another scene, I almost cried with Mark and the others when he was badly beaten by a mafia 大哥.

This show is amazing, even though the mafias were swearing and cursing (cheena way). Their 60s and 70s outfit was atrociously funny! Skinny pants that are a little too short, and they pair them with 夹脚拖鞋! Shirts that are in such loud colours and prints, nobody dares to wear in this era.. Words can't do justice to this movie...really....

Yeah! Finally a public holiday! March was excruciating! No PH to look forward to...

Spent Good Friday on a nature walk with family at Southern Ridges.. We covered the distance between Marang Trail to Floral Walk. A great part of time was spent at Hort Park, where we saw many beautiful flowers. Left the house around 8plus in the morning (plan delayed right from the start).. It was so hot and bright when we were at the Henderson Waves! The thick, doubled layers of sunblock did not help at all! :( Photos coming up later hehe..

Had a wonderful sat (20th Mar)! Played badminton in the morning..haven't played badminton ever since I left Sec Sch. My skills was totally cmi! Haiz..need to practice more! But first, I need to get a racket haha!
After that, I had a crazy Wii session! Rabbid 2 was fun!! ((: I think I was the only one screaming and shouting in those competition games lol... Ended up with sore arms after both of these activities...

Went to look at how much racket costs the next day, but didn't buy it yet haa! That place only sells Yonex racket, and the cheapest one costs $39.90 after discount some more... Consider first la huh!

Yesterday (26th Mar) played Wii again. This time was to celebrate wanyong's bday... We planned a surprise for her, supposed to make her believe that no one can make it to the celebration, and appear at the cafe before she does. We wanted to light up the candles before she comes in, but there was problem with synchronization:(
Nevertheless, it was a fun session with them at The Hangout Cafe. It costs $4.50/hr for each person. You can also go for the 2hrs package ($14 ) that comes with free flow of drinks, popcorn and a snack (we chose cheese fries). Personally, I feel that food and drinks are rather redundant when you're absorbed in games....

It was actually more fun in the first Wii session! Guys, you're the best! (u noe who u're ^_*) There were too many glitches when playing Wii outside... It's best played at home for loooong hrs!! (:

My colleague asked me what is my favourite disney character on the way home today (time check at 8.20pm). I thought for a while, but suddenly can't think of any disney character.. So I told her a character which my sis really likes.. Then she asked me what about those princesses?? wow..still no answer for her.

I pondered about this when I was bathing just now..recap all the stories behind all the princesses that I could think of.. I quite like Cinderella! 先苦后甜. tortured and bullied at first, and then happy life forever...

These few days damn busy with work, and I totally HATE IT!! Never a day this week that I can go home on time! :@ Today is the worse! Stayed at tt place for 12hrs! :@:@

Yipee~ did full pedi for cny today! :D It had been 2 yrs since I last did a express pedi.. Really enjoyed the whole process of scrubbing, cuticles removing, etc~ (: Hoped it'll last till new yr! And I shall wear less flats to work to show off my nails hehe:P

Anyway, I ended up signing a package with them..very heart pain to see tt sum of money flying away at 1 go! But at least I dun have to wait for another yr before I enjoy my pedi session (:

Been spending a lot lately! Went out for drinks with my colleagues on Fri.. quite cool, I tried sex on the beach, nice cocktail! Yoges made us all try sembucca (sweet Italian shot) >< The drink is sweet, but still have a strong alcohol after taste..it sort of burns the throat.. Tried beer for the 1st time in my life.. It's bitter!! Hope to get use to different alcohol and get to like them ~

Went through a really terrible Wed this week. Worst day of my working life..sucks!
Am I able to last for the few more months?? Hate the person to the core!
For those who think u may noe who tt person is, u are wrong! Not him!
After this incident, I finally realize how big mouths ppl can get!

Today, I was just about to go home when another person stood opp me, muttering a soft "fighting"! I have no idea if the person meant it to be encouraging me, but I felt good just by this simple word.

There'll be this gathering for the whole institution tmr, after work. Free buffet dinner.... at pantry -.- How dots can it get?!

Met up with ht for lunch today.. we had Trattoria Italian Kitchen @ 313 somerset. The fried calamari is really yummy! Pizza is good too..thin crust kind (: We talked and we walked and we ate! Cool to catch up with her once in a while! Envy her for knowing her future well too~

For dinner, mum got this free $50 voucher to Crystal Jade that expires on 31st jan.. So we went to Crystal Jade Kitchen for dinner.. The roast duck, chicken and toufu are really delicious..they go really well with rice! Had the 苋菜 cooked with 3 kinds of eggs again, nice! :D

Time passes far too fast during the weekends! In just a blink of eyes, my whole sat is already gone:( Hate the meetings that is going to come next week! Pray for my survival!! Ahhh...

Headed to 313 Somerset with sis yesterday- intended to do some cny shopping. Hey it's not too early for cny shopping ok! The shopping mall was really huge, and probably because it's new, there was a big crowd in the mall! We went into Cotton On, but gave up on that shop after a while...it was EXTREMELY squeezy! There was practically no walking space!

After that, we went to Zara, but nothing really catch my eye there. 2 stories Zara outlet, amazing! oO There was carpetted flooring at higher levels of the shopping mall! cool! Met che lei while walking past Mango lol...

The shop that made us spend most of the time there was....... 4 stories Forever21!!! So spacious, so different from the Wisma outlet! I really like that shop! ((: Both of us bought stuff from f21 :D But mine was really meant to be cny clothes, but sis... bought non-cny stuff -.-
I will definitely go back to the f21 outlet again!! :D

WOW I watched so many movies in Jan, and Jan is not even over yet!

刺陵, Sherlock Holmes and Did you hear about the Morgans.

Am amazed with Sherlock Holmes! I like how they input fighting into detective movie. Did you hear about the Morgans is a funny show. There were laughters throughout the show!
It was kinda rush to watch movie after work. Reaching orchard around after 6.30 in the evening, buying tickets and dinner for the show at 7.10 was totally no fun. I ended up smuggling kfc into the theatre twice in a week. Feeling sick whenever I think of kfc now! oO

Omg...big hole in my pocket liao! Likely to watch Avatar soon too :s

Ushering Year 2010

New Yr's Eve was fantastic! It started with a lunch with ROs in my lab, and ROs in other labs. We went to Suntec Astons to eat and chit chat till late afternoon.

After bathing, I set off to Vivocity for the CH8 countdown!! ^^ Everybody was so well-dressed when I boarded the train to harbourfront! Must be gg to St. James.. It was packed even before we reached the open area upstairs. There was even a queue for escalators!!

The countdown was really happening! With songs, games and performances by mediacorp artises and some superstar contestants. I really enjoy it!! :DD Elvin is really shuai! Paige, ou xuan and bai wei xiu are super pretty! Surprisingly, ann kok is super pretty too!! Cai peixuan can really dance! She has the groove~ amazed!!
Super envy how slim those female artises are..... my new yr resolution: Slim down and tone up!!

It was terrible! Tickets are distributed at 8.30am, but it was alr super crowded when we reached there before 8am!

Before going up the connecting bridge, we were given these 3D glasses to watch a short clip about the Twin Towers. Don't they look cool? :p

A famous nasi lemak in KLCC Suria. This dish is quite spicy and expensive! It costs around SGD7-8 for a plate! I didn't try it cos I was still full from the A&W brunch this morning. And I was saving my stomach for some street food heeh (: I can accept this version of nasi lemak, but I definitely won't enjoy those in Spore. Too little ingredients and too dry in Spore!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! (:

Transtar Z club bus. Can almost lie down flat, but the aircon vent kept dripping water condensation the whole night! I wasn't the only one who kana!
Can't really sleep with all the street lamps shining so brightly too :(
We were playing around with all the chair functions like sua-gu haha..

Pp lost her wallet, which contains her IC, atm card, etc. So while the 3 of them went back to the bus terminal to look for the wallet, the other 3 waited at the lobby of Royale Bintang (it wasn't our hotel). Nice toilet that has aromatherapy oil! I dun dare to go to other outside toilets eee :/
Phototaking with mirror, and xmas trees haha! Hx and I were also playing with wc's pro camera!
That KFC chicken porridge was the first meal I had in KL, cos no other shops were opened at 5am in the morning..

We stayed at Replica Inn, which is at a rather strategic location in Bukit Bintang. Not too near the night market, quite clean, big walking space, but the bad thing is.... They don't provide hair dryer! ARGH!
Top left photo was taken at Krispy Kreme in Berjaya Times Square. I crazily bought back 2 dozens of original glazed donuts. 1 box was requested by wn, and the other box for myself. whahaha..

Oops, mia for quite a long time.. I went to KL for a short break the last weekend (18-21 dec), and was amazed at how cheap things were in KL! oO
I spent around SGD200, including the accomodation fares, but excluding coach fares. Will update about the KL trip once I've gathered all the photos :)

Excited about the coming holidays woo~ Finally a long long break from work! Yipee~ Great plans for Christmas 09 and New Yr countdown! I've gotten tickets to the CH8 countdown at Vivocity!! woohoo~~ But this yr, DYT is not gg to be at Vivo, he'll be attending the one at Marina Bay. Sad... Nevertheless, it'll still be a good and high countdown! :D

Woo~ was at 爱情海民歌餐厅 with wy and cl yesterday. Our first time there, and that place is so cool! It's at Marina Square, and performance starts at 7.30pm - 11+ on wkends. We were one of the first few there, and we sat right in front of the stage. The other people who came in later, all chose to sit at the back. HAHA and this made us feel weird, cos we're like their no. 1 fans LOL!

What to watch?: Live chinese songs performance!

The bands are really good! (: Performers not only just sing, but they also have to inject humour in their conversation, and they sort of need to host the session themselves. For $14.80++ per pax, one can stay for 2 sessions of performance by different bands. Price is inclusive of a drink. We had a great night laughing and listening to good music!

This place will definitely be in my list of favourite hide-out! ((:

Met up with my pri sch friend yesterday, which was like once in 10 yrs! OMGOMG! I had mixed feelings while on the way to The Cathay. "Will she speak more eng or chi?, will it be awkward if we don't have anything to say to each other?" Many of these qns zoomed in my head.

When I finally saw her, I was like grinning and asking her if she came by train. (I decided to use eng with her since she's in smu, and she said oh my god when she first saw me hahaha) Well, we chatted over dinner, and I realized that she has morphed into a very confident and independent person. She told me smu changed her, and for a moment, I wished that I could be like her. She made all the decisions on her own, like which jc to go, which uni course to take, while I had to discuss that with my parents.

She went Europe for 2 mths with a guy, but that guy is not her bf! So open-minded! We talked a lot about our ideal guy, and she was like ok I'm going to put you in my database -_- She kept insisting that I should meet this guy friend of hers lol.. What's wrong with everyone? Cl wanted to bring me to bar for "shopping" haha! (Don't try to guess the real meaning!)
We also talked about the silly things that we did in pri sch. It's a part of my memory that has been blurred, but now dug out fresh.

Haiz suddenly I find so many things to improve on. Looking forward to meeting her again!

COOL ktv at Jurong Safra!

Klunch with wy and cl at Jurong Safra today! The place was sooo cool! Touch screen to select songs, and they have buttons for u to cheer/applause/whistle/jeer at the singers! Haha! I had lots of fun playing with it.. The best thing is that they have recording function!! One could record the singing and bluetooth back to handphone! But what a pity was that this function was under repair.. haiz! The lunch was nice too.. Salmon sashimi with rice or soba noodles with sushi.. The aircon is really strong there..so those going, please bring extra thick sweater! :D

Bakerzin hi-tea after klunch woo~ And we spent like 2h+ sitting there, eating cakes, drinking coffee/tea, chatting about everything. ((: Cl inspired me by her theory! I'm waiting for her to bring me out to enjoy life! LOL...

Ma Maison dinner again! This time I went to the Bugis branch.
Had to wait for a table when we reached, but we were early, so we sat while waiting.. Other ppl who were later had to stand while waiting. As usual, wn and I were the early birds hehe..

Occasion: Wn's bday celebration
Entree: Omu rice with brown sauce (me), Stew beef with butter rice (wn), Prawn and scallop gratin (sb and jl).
I like the brown sauce! Dunno if it's the okonomiyaki sauce though.. But this dish tasted kinda jerlat after finishing 1 whole serving... The food is kinda overpriced, but I love the music at this Bugis branch! I heard a jazz female ver of yong xin liang ku and huang hun! So cool!!
Dessert: Mudpie and carrot cake from NYDC ((: Yayy...my mudpie! <3 Only took photo of the omu rice!
Reason: Never bring camera lol.. The others were too hungry to wait!
Level of enjoyment: Uncountable, indescribable! :DD

Celebrated mid-autumn festival this yr with piggies..
We met up on the lunar aug 14th (fri night) at Sembawang.
Proceeded to Sembawang Park after a quick dinner.
It was so dark when we reached there...
There were more ppl near the sea area. Nice sea breeze!
We started off with eating mooncakes bought by pp,
then blast music and used candles to make the PIGGY word.
Sparkles and crazy jump poses for camera was next,
and we finally ended the day with a lighted lantern-walk haha!
Super fun event! :D

Yayy finally received my card after such a long buffer period (:

I finished Twilight, and am proceeding to New Moon now! The series is so addictive!

Am also watching The World That They Live In by Song Hye Kyo and Hyun Bin. Very inspired to watch this after knowing that they got together in real life due to this show hehe :D So far, I quite like the show.. The occupation that they featured: the live of directors, actors and actresses. Kinda new and interesting.

Just a small story to share. Usually, there's always 1 day in a wk tt I will pass by this elderly couple. They will bring out all the cupboards (collected in the wk, i guess), and wait patiently for the truck to come for collection early in the morning.. It's always the 2 of them waiting tgt. Then 1 fine day, I only saw the ah pei waiting for the truck.. I tot... It's kinda sad thinking about the possibilities of what could happen.... Treasure everything around u, guys!

September is coming to an end..so fast! The much hated monthly meeting will haunt me once again argh!

Had a lunch buffet with family today at Pearl River Palace Restaurant. It's a canto restaurant that has received rather good reviews on tv and online. We decided to test it out and shun bian celebrate sis's bday!!

Finding a parking space is tough with a travel fair,
food fair on the same day!

Tried their dessert first while waiting for our ala carte
dishes to be served... Blackforest cake! Very chocolatey! (:
Dun like the white layer on top..

Durian puff was so-so only..
Weird tt I didn't focus the front puff properly..
the back ones were focused instead lol!
Other desserts are yang zhi gan lu, orh nee (watery de),
gui ling gao, almond longan, mango pudding, fruits...
Yang zhi gan lu is niceee! Had many servings~ (:

Siew mai..can taste the whole prawn in it..

Live poached prawns tt's limited to 100g per person..
Very fresh and the taste is enhanced by a sauce!

Shark's fins soup..there's real shark's fins inside!
A little too starchy, but on the whole good!

Prawn in wasbi-mayo sauce~ SPECIAL taste!
I like it! Not too hot, and the prawns are slightly fried..
We had 2 servings of this! (:

Spinach with some mushroom.. I love it! :DD
The veg saves the day!
Kinda sick eating all the prawns and meat continuously.
We also ordered xiao jie lan, which was good too!

Spring roll with yam in it.. Different from the usual ones.
But I don't really like spring rolls right from the start haha..

Fried prawn dumplings. Not bad..
Taste can be enhanced with the mayo sauce..
But this dish took a super long time to come!
Dunno why! :(

It's at Lasalle College of Arts. Within walking distance from Bugis mrt.

Old buddies met up in celebration for sb's bday last Sat! Had a ktv session at Crystalbelle. I was really surprised how convenient Crystalbelle's location was! It's just next to Outram mrt station! It was fun! Jl and wn both brought their bfs..jl even brought her bro lol... We had fun teasing jl and wn while they were singing duets :p Sb is really pro in singing! So powerful and nice ahhhh... :D
At night, we had frog's porridge for dinner. It's supposed to be a famous shop according to sb hee.. First time trying tt.. tian ji tastes like chicken meat! Wn said it's her fave hehe.. After tt, we had dessert at a rather famous shop..saw tt it was advertised by pai pai zhan cha cha kan.. A fun day spent with them! Looking forward to the next gathering ppl! ((:

Went to Sentosa ystd. A fun day out with sbic ppl.. We took many many pics-- in the lab, outings and those in Sentosa.. But I'm still deliberating whether to put up the photos. Having mixed feelings about my current predicament.. I'm still in denial....

Treetop walk on the morning of National day. Reached Macritchie at 8plus in the morning, but completed the walk in the afternoon at 1pm! We walked a total of 11km omg! It got so hot in the afternoon that I can feel my face burning.. But surprisingly, I did not get muscle ache the next day hehe.. I felt funny in my knee joints though :p

Busy weekend.. Watched 吓到笑 on Fri midnight. The show is super funny! I was laughing throughout. ((: Kudos to the person who designed the lines..they're extremely good! Wana watched it before the lunar 7th month lol.. First 2 stories ended with lessons to learn, and the last story was rather touching! And I was surprised by the full theatre on such a weird timing..
Then on Sat afternoon, I watched UP with ht.. I wonder if it's due to comparison, but I dun find UP as good as tt in the reviews.. Jack Neo's movie is more worth watching!

Isn't staying out from home for the whole night a bit too much for 2 times in a row? Not considering the number of times spent outside, and the hang-outs till 11plus at night. All these with a bunch of friends known not even for 1 month?! I can't accept this change, and the fact that the person is quite happy about it. The person considers it GOT LIFE, and I'm supposed to be NO LIFE!!

You need to understand that when u spend more time outside, u're actually spending less time with family. Think about what u've given up, or done less at home by spending all the time outside with this particular group of friends. What about the other friends that u've made along the way in other educational institutions? Think about when's the last time you contacted them.

This is bothering me so much that I'm losing my temper almost everyday. Accumulated so much karma by swearing and scolding.. Sheesh...there has got to be a way to solve this!

Spent a wonderful Sat afternoon with these gals.. Had lunch with them at Sakae, and the original plan was to go shopping after that.. However, cl and wy's singing itch came along, so we went to kbox instead lol.. Sw and me brought along our sweaters, and sw was saying must always prepare sweater when she was out with wy and cl haha! Spontaneous singers!!

First 2 photos were taken b4 cl arrived. (She was 1h late!!) There was this nice staff at the Suntec branch who was willing to help us take photos(: She even cued us to give a different pose, and made suggestions as to where to take the photo haha!

It was fun talking about our experiences ever since we graduated. Cl had many many stories to share with us! We loved our fried tofu and salmon sushi!

Kbox time.. The snacks that we ordered haha! There was still another 4 bowl of snacks not in the photo...

Yayy last 2 photos were taken using the self-timer function.. I realised that with flash, this self-timer function is able to take good and clear photos!

Met up with jl last fri night to pass her the present.. We had New York2 for dinner.. Argh! Shouldn't have ordered a main course each. The serving was extremely LARGE!! Take a look at the pic to find out how big each order was.. I ordered their spare ribs, the sauce + wedges were good.. But had trouble finishing the whole dish (I finished it in the end la haha..) And the bad point was........ there wasn't much veggies... sad! Jl ordered fish and chips.. I've neva seen such a HUGE portion of fish served in a dish! =X Plus the fries were like free -_- they gave a lottt!! Well, that night she had her complains, and I had mine..

We walked around amk hub and the pasar malam at central before heading home. I bought a cutie little twin star shower cap lol.. Jl had a big harvest! She bought a pooh neck-rest to add on to her 'pooh car' whahaha! So fun to hang out like this with an old friend!

Had dinner with piggy club at a kopitiam in Commonwealth..
Our motive is to let pp see her present (clothes),

We had tze char at tt coffee shop..
There were good reviews for this tze char shop!
Their biz is good, many ppl had to wait if they came late.
Had short dinner, cos I wanted to watch 肥田 haha!

Butter pork ribs... Highly recommended!

Its gravy was fantastic!

Yayy! My Commencement ceremony is over! I'll commence on with my new life from now on.. It's daunting to proceed forward, but I guess everyone will have to take this step.

Commencement was great! My whole family attended, and sis was my photographer for the day! Thanks to her, for all the pretty photos! (: All the pretty photos are on fb, but I will also upload some nice ones here. I also took a family photo with Werkz (official photographer), and the effect was great! It's kinda ex though.. Now waiting for my stage photos to arrive by post hehe..

This is once in a lifetime experience, to be able to go up on stage for the degree scroll. The Appl Chem cohort also took a photo together! After the ceremony, I went out to get my flowers and started to go round for crazy photo-taking session..

For dinner, we went for seafood at Turf City.. It was a memorable day!

I dunno if I had made the wrong choice.. I can't predict wat will happen to me.. I dun understand why is it not like before? Things are getting very complicated, and with my soft attitude, I can't seem to deal with all these! Endless decisions to make..regrets piling up..countless stuff to learn! :'( I understand that these are all part and parcel of growing up, but it seem too fast for me to adapt.. Was I growing in a greenhouse all the while? Would I wither and die, or would I become stronger?

Responsibilities seem to weigh very heavily on my back, I feel as if I'm gg to drown with no help coming along. Help!!

Had dinner with lab ppl at Central's Ma Maison..
First time trying out this restaurant. It serves western jap style food.
Ladies Night on Mon, 20% off bill.. More photos are with val,
but I managed to con mf to take 1 photo using my hp
Whahaha! Her new hairstyle! cool!
I tried the chicken steak with cheese and some sauce.
Quite a light main course as compared to the others.
The sauce is slightly sour and salty, and
on the whole the dish is good!
They tried tonkatsu (fried pork) with rice, curry rice, etc..

Boon Theng met us after the dinner at coffee club express..
I pi4 gu3 yang3, ordered a cup of iced mocha vanilla
ended up having trouble to sleep at night -_-"'

Last Thurs

Had an enjoyable day out with wn.. It's been so long since i went out alone with her. She wanted to pass me my super belated bday present [*gasp* they bought me a dress! luv it lots ((:] Special thanks to jl and wn for taking time off to shop for present..i noe it's difficult (laughs!) We met up quite early for klunch.. They gave us a lousy room with torn sofa, probably cos there were only 2 of us.. Feel so comfortable with these old buddies (: Love all of u lots ya? :D

Sat

All the honours students plus graduate students turned up at dr zhao's house for a gathering.. Met mf at yck station, and we took train tgt there. Her place is at jurong west, such an unfamiliar area to me.. I had to depend on valerie and the guys to find the way. We reached her house at 12pm, thinking tt we would be having lunch there. The funny thing was tt she served us some light snacks (mf's jelly was one of them), and her parents only started to cook at around 3plus lol.. Before lunch, we were playing a murderer game in a big group.. Some of the grad stud can really speak in a hilarious way! Dr Zhao's parents are good cooks! I love the cabbage and dumplings most.. The dumplings were wrapped by them, so delicious! Dumplings had lots of flour, i felt full after eating a few lol..

Mf left at 5plus for her 2nd gathering, while the rest started to play uno and monopoly.. Eh these 2 games are rather boring for singaporeans, but the china ppl found monopoly extremely fun! LOL.. After watching them play monopoly for a while, I decided to join the other honours students, dr zhao and her parents for a chat.. We talked about everything under the sun. Pretty indian eyes, lousy public bus system, chinese language, val's china trip, etc...

Resumed eating at around 7pm.. Had yuting's chocolate cake, strudels, donuts ahhh my stomach was so full after eating all those.. The honours students left for home after taking a group photos and individual photo with dr zhao.. It was nearly 8pm by then..shagged..

What a long gathering! But it was really nice discussing about ur own country with foreigners..

Day 2 Contd

After coming back to Tung Chung, we shopped at Citygate.. Went to the supermarket, but everything seems similar to Spore.. Wanted to buy some factory outlet stuff, but it turned out tt nothing much pleases me lol..

Had dinner at 海皇粥店 (near Yau Ma Tei Station Exit C). This place was recommended by Smart King and Queen.. The porridge was rather nice! I love Canto style porridge anyway haha.. I tried their 艇仔粥, guess what's in the porridge? 艇 means sampan, so the ingredients were mostly seafood.. There was cuttlefish, jellyfish (? not too sure), pork (nice!), crunchy peanuts, etc...

We decided to walk back to the hotel and on our way back, we saw this shop selling kuehs.. Many ppl were queueing, so we joined in the fun whahaha.. I only tried their 桂花莲子糕.. not bad, taste rather healthy for a snack haha.. There was 枸杞子 and 莲子 bits in the kueh! Interesting.. The other pic shows their green bean kueh i think... My friend said tt was good too!

And so tt ended our 2nd day in hk! (:

HK Day 2

Lantau Island. We travelled up the mountain by bus.. a whole day pass that costs hkd$35, which was rather reasonable. The bus ride was like a roller coaster! HK drivers can really speed their way and maneuver through mountaineous roads at top speed! :x

There was too much food, we couldn't finish!
Mushrooms were super nice! (:
But as usual the dishes were oily..

Next, we boarded the bus to the neighbouring Tai O Fishing Village.
It was super hot tt day!
So didn't take much photos since I was holding the umbrella :p

The people in this village travel mostly by bicycles..
U can see them everywhere, and it is quite irritating

Not exceptionally nice, and I find that Canto dishes are pretty oily.. Even their veg are soak in oil!! The food in the main pic is the famous roast goose.. super loads of oil under the skin! They cheated us by including all the tofu,veg and egg dishes after this roast goose was served -_-

HK Grad Trip Details! (Day 1)

The Jetstar flight to hk was at 640am on 11May09.. Whole family sent me to the airport (:

Reached hk after 3hr+ of torture, but i must say that due to good weather, i had a smooth flight there.. Whee~ can see Tsing Ma Bridge from the above pic! I was amazed tt we had to climb down a flight of stairs from the plane and take an airport bus to the airport terminal..i expected hk airport to be of rather high class u see.. At the airport, we were sort of psychoed to join this night tour covering Victoria Peak, wax museum and roast goose dinner (hkd320 for all these). Thinking back now, I feel that it's not worth the money! But well, we got the comfort of tour bus and tour guide..

First stop, Largos Hotel.. The hotel is pretty small but we were quite comfortable for the 6 day stay there.. The hotel staff were friendly and nice too.. We pestered them for good food recommendation and directions to certain places, they could converse with us in mandarin too..

After that, we went hunting for lunch.. Walked arnd to search for 麦文记 for their wanton noodles (hkd24 per bowl). I dun really like the noodles cos got strong yeast taste.. I find their wantons really GD. There are 2 or > fresh prawns in each wanton! Delicious!

We walked arnd Ladies Street, Fa Yuen Street and Sai Yeung Choi South Street for the rest of the afternoon before heading back to hotel for the night tour. Saw 许留山 on the way, and decided to try it..

Went to Marina Barrage for a walk after the heavy lunch..
I was amazed to see the 2 diff colours of water outside & inside of the barrage.

The outdoor gallery was so bright that I couldn't see properly lol..
Marina Barrage is a very windy and nice place! There is also shuttle bus service from Marina Bay mrt station..

Went to Ban Heng Restaurant at Boon Keng to celebrate my bdae..
Pretty good online reviews for this restaurant, and my father knew about this place..

Lunch buffet $16.80+ per pax, rather reasonable for alar carte buffet.

Posted some pics of the food that we ordered.. the standard is very high!
Tasty food at reasonable price, what else can u ask for?

Tried venison for the first time..not bad, but can't get use to eating this>.<
Also tried coffee pork ribs for the first time..
Garlic chicken was too salty>.<
I love the hotplate tofu! got the zi char taste! (:
The deep fried fish was super good too! Can even chew the bones down haha((:
Servings for sea cucumber was rather generous too..

Dun really like the dessert selection..
My parents and sis raved about the orh-nee, but i dun like to eat orh-nee

Read an article, and would like to share.

London research study shows that females who put on make-up reduces the risk of falling.. This has something to do with confidence level. The study was done on 100 65 to 85 yr old ladies. It was found that female who put on make up tend to stand with better posture, and have better sense of balance.

Researchers said that it has got something to do with stretching the body when one applies make-up. These actions can improve balance and synchronization of the body -- less risk of falling.. o.O

Interesting isn't it? Haha..

Went out with Hai Ting last Sun to give her the belated bdae present.. I could only meet her somewhere near my home (cos rushing for rpts and lagged tut). We had Waraku for lunch.. Saw this $9.99 special, and thought tt it was rather value for money.. We can choose a pasta cum pizza. And I was still wondering what is the actual size of serving..

LOL it turned out to be this small.. Faints! The tuna pizza is good! Opps HT took half of the toast before I took a pic of it haha.. I was contemplating whether to try out the black ink spag, but had this lunch special since it's cheaper. Will try it another day(: Saving up for my HK trip.. Heard from HT tt she's also gg to hk, but she's gg in apr.. so most prob won't see her there..

Argh dunno how to zi pai lor.. Lighting is so bad.. sigh~

Backdated post of my experience in City Square

Took bus 170 from Kranji to Misa City Square on one Sat morning.. Am surprised to see the new Msia custom, it's rather like an airport custom! My fren wanted to take photos in there, but was stopped by the authority :( Anyway, I think City Square is rather safe for Singaporeans to shop there! There is linkway directly to the shopping mall from the custom.

Shopped around for a while before we went to sing ktv. I was surprised to know how widespread Canto was among Msian Chinese. The ppl working at the ktv talked to customers in Canto, and when I call for service from the room, they spoke in Canto too! Luckily I could understand man haha! Below's the food that was served there. I think I paid arnd SGD 14 for food, drink + ktv..

Guess what's this? A mic cover! So cool right.. Spore ktv doesn't have this la.. I was so excited to see this haha..

The whole trip was kinda tiring with all the alighting and boarding of buses.. But it was a new shopping experience nevertheless.. The mall is pretty huge with lots of things to see.. Will go back there again in future hehe(:

I had been pretty busy last week..
Mid-term tests, group meeting, job seeking, ..
So far quite aimless for the job part..
Fyp report and presentation are gg to due soon.. sian~ No motivation to start at all! Haven't even get concrete results for my project haiz.. Sad:(

The happy thing is that I'm gg to hk for grad trip in may! woohoo~ finally a chance to go overseas after soooo long haha.. But the itinerary has not been planned yet.. My friends and I are intending to think about it after the exams.. Comtemplating whether to go disneyland or ocean park.. Any recommendations, ppl? When I was at my grandfather's place for his bdae celebration last wkend, many of my relatives shared with me about their experiences in hk.. So moral of their stories is that hongkong ppl love tips! Haha..

Had late dinner last Thurs with some of the lab ppl.. We ate at MOF and then had dessert at one of the shops in Esplanade Mall.

The ramen was NICE! Loved the soy-egg the most! ((:

Dessert from the Max Brenner chocolate shop was super delicious. The display itself is an art! ((: The raspberry sauce that came along with the waffle was the BEST! Totally addicted to this shop! :D Will definitely patronise this shop again, although it's items are not that cheap haha..

Yeah! Chinese New Year is just tomorrow! Will be having the reunion dinner later -- chicken, fish, fa cai, sea cucumber, pipa duck etc! Hehe salivating alr..

I like how I can spend long hrs in front of the mirror to doll up
catch up with cousins and relatives
slack for 2 whole days without feeling guilty
eat and drink non-stop!

Although many people doesn't like to go visiting and entertaining relatives, I find it rather fun. It is just amazing to see how much your little cousins grow up since u last seen them, and get updates from other relatives on what they've been doing.. Haha!

Woohoo~ CNY is coming! I'm so excited, and i dun even feel like gg to sch for next wk lol! ((: Anw I've been preparing for the terrible fyp progress report for the past few weeks. The presentation was a nightmare! One of the prof thinks tt he's super smart, he actually spoke to me in a condescending manner! :@ irritated!! Well, I'm glad it's over, though there's another session in about 10wks time..

I went for cny shopping with my sis ystd, didn't manage to buy a lot of clothes though. Perhaps I was too picky on the design and price. I want beautiful clothes at affordable price! Today, I helped out in spring cleaning. Washed bathroom (scrubbed like mad), changed curtains and bedsheets. Rather tiring!

Am satisfied with the final decision I made for modules hee((:

Countdown Party!

2009 was ushered in with a BANG with my sis, piggy club and jeaniuses. Jeaniuses btw, is Jeanette Aw's official fan club. We get to go for the Mediacorp Countdown Party at VivoCity all thanks to jeanius! (and rf too) We started to queue at the venue at 4pm (the rest went there at 1 or 3pm!) when the event would only start at 10.30pm. Queueing was a brisk this time, with air condition comfort and chatting with frens. I was glad we could stand right in front of the stage! Fan club has this priviledge((:

The performance was super! But I was quite disappointed by the lack of party atmosphere. The whole block of audience was just sitting there, clicking their cameras away. Only the members of various fan clubs were 'high'. The artistes put up a great show! Thanks to jeanius for giving out light sticks; we rocked to fast numbers and swayed with slow ones! ((:

I was surprised when Ou Xuan stayed back on stage to talk to the fc members. She is very friendly, and thanked us for coming! haha! Well, ah wu ge is still as shuai as ever((: No photos for now, but I'll try to get them asap.

Had Yuki-Yaki last sun with family.. My dad said we didn't go abroad, so he treated us to buffet haha.. Yuki-Yaki is a good place to hang out with frens! They have standard size tables, so 4 ppl is spacious, but 6 is a crowd. They serve steamboat and bbq on each table. I like this shop because of their marinated lamb. Lamb does not appear in every bbq or steamboat buffet due to it's high cost:( But they have it here!

Just a day before, my aunt brought her home-made tang yuan over. Haha all thanks to her that we get to enjoy tang yuan on dong zhi((:

FAHRENHEIT CONCERT

This week was an amazing week! I did not win frh concert tickets, only won the premium bag. But miraculously, I went to their concert with a complimentary ticket! It was my first time attending such a concert, and I didn't expect the audio to be so loud!! HAHA.. Sadly to say that my friends and I weren't sitting near the stage, so couldn't see their faces clearly. We could only depend on large screen. Calvin performed b-box, Dadong strummed a guitar to a melodious number while the rest sang to the tune, Yalun played on the piano and sang duet with Liyang and finally Wuzun displayed sword sparring skills. It was a pleasant session overall((:

I didn't take photo since the place is too dark. I made a decision that day. If I really want to see idols clearly on stage, I will definitely buy the most expensive tickets just to have the concert feel. People sitting behind usu get into the concert venue by complimentary tix, so they are not as 'high' as those in front! How annoying! :@

After the concert, there was no need to leave the venue early cos SBS now has this Stadium Direct service, which takes us back home in one direct bus. Super cool! (: I managed to reach home in 45min!

Korean food last Sunday

Agenda for last Sunday: Shop for cny clothes with piggy club gals. We had lunch at a Korean restaurant in Far East Plaza. It was my first time trying Korean food. Koreans have their meals with a lot of small servings of side dishes. These are mostly veggies, kimichi and pickled veggies..rather interesting, but some are too salty. Below are some pics of the food(:

Top: Seafood pancake (eggy taste, rather plain without the salty soy sauce). Left: Pickled raddish side dish (not bad). Right: Dok bok-ki aka spicy rice cake (u all should have seen this dish in korean shows..the sauce in this restaurant is nicer than that sold outside $2.50 for a cup haha)

Upper left: Spicy seafood soup. Lower left: Kimchi side dish. Right: Hotplate chicken (really well marinated, nice!)

All the side dishes, with 2 cups of sour plum drink. The drinks taste really weird, got a burnt taste! Hx and I dun like it, but pp and ser drank them all up.. Haha!!

In the end we went home empty handed.. No nice clothes that appeal me haiz... :(

Zhen Fa Live Seafood Steamboat

Had steamboat dinner yet again! Went to Zhen4 Fa1 this time. This shop was quite deserted when I had dinner at La Mei Zi a few months ago, but now pple have to queue across (outside) the car showroom. It was a looong wait, my family and I queued for about 50min! Goodness, I think this is my max liao, I won't ever queue so long for food the next time :S It was rather frightening to have dinner buffet at 8pm, the food may not even be digested when I go to sleep haiz..

But well they have desserts, and the spread is a lot better than La Mei Zi(: Their eclairs/choclairs are super nice! A chocolate top layer with coffee or chocolate ice cream as fillings yummy~ I was too busy eating live prawns and crabs, so didn't have much space for dessert haha. There are also teppanyaki and bbq counters besides the steamboat. You will just have to choose your meat, add a table clip to ur plate, and the chef will do wonders! (:

Before leaving the place at around 10plus, we managed to catch chen liping and chen taiming entering to have their meal (with a whole lot of other ppl). Well, they do have special service for being a public figure. I saw a plate of sushi (a variety of them) specially made just for them. How nice!

Yayy exams are over, but there isn't much to rejoice about. I will still have to go back lab during the holidays, and the progress presentation is coming soon :S But at least I can relax and watch dramas after 1 whole day of lab hehe :D

How to eat this? U will have to break open the fruit, and eat the yellow flesh inside. I thought it tasted weird when I first tried it. This fruit tastes sour! But I got use to it after the first try. The seeds has got an unpleasant taste just like kiwi seeds or dragon fruit seeds. U'll like it if you like kiwi or dragon fruit! I heard from my mother that this fruit is expensive haha..

I'm beginning to hate lab.
Endless reactions and lousy results.
I hate to be in the head of department's lab.
I earned $50 last wk.
I may lose this earnings this wk.
I want to curse that person who landed me into this!!!

Lousy weekend spent on worrying for something that will not happen if I were in another lab, and not the one where the head of department's students work in. Exam's around the corner, and this can be used as a perfect excuse for not gg to lab frequently haha! I can't imagine why there are ppl who want to do graduate studies when honours lab is already so irritating!

Frens asked what will I work as when I graduate, seriously I don't know. But I'm crossing my fingers that I won't land up in chemical industry. I will like to work in the food, drug or perfume industry though, with minimal harmful chemicals around. There has been 3 incidents of thermometer breakage in the lab, in less than 1 month! It's frightening to see the whole lab empty due to the mercury exposed. I don't want to end up with itai-itai when I age! :'(

海角了没

A new phrase that is used in TW nowadays. 海角 is referring to a tw home made movie, 《海角七号》, rather popular among the taiwanese. So u must be thinking the phrase means asking pple if they have watched the movie? U're wrong, it's asking how many times a person has watched tt movie! So it's default that everyone has watched the movie at least once haha!

After reading this, the entertainment show 《大学生了没》makes sense! I was always wondering how to pronounce and wat's the meaning of this phrase! It means to ask a person if he/she is a uni grad. This seems to be a format in which taiwanese love to use. Other egs are: Wii 了没, 吃饭了没 etc. Credits to writer in 我报

Hey! How's everyone? Hehe I haven't been posting for almost a month alr! Dun really have pictures to share, so neva post any entries.. Life has been much routine, going to school and then back home.. Last Sunday, on impulse, I text ser to ask her out to go shopping with me. We went to Bugis for a while.. It was really last min, cos I only asked her around 10plus in the morning. We bought a t-shirt each and I also bought another top ((: My mum told me to shop for cny clothes since I'm going out! Haha cos cny is at 26th Jan next year, so soon.. I starting to think of what I want to wear on new year hehe..

I feel like gg overseas in Dec, wanted to go Thailand but it doesn't seem safe for a group of girls to go there at this point of time.. Haiz, then relatives are gg to Genting and Penang, driving there..I dun wana go Genting leh.. Always felt sick when the car descends from mountain top, sian!

KTV with wan yong, che lei and fren.. We went for the k student, and I was surprised at the amount of food and drinks that were served.. $14.50 nett for this side dish (there should be 1 more octopus ball),

a dish of cocktail, and free flow of coke/sprite! I don't remember kbox having such wonderful deals in the past.. Ahh how much have I missed out?!

On 23 Sep Tue, I went to lab early in the morning to start a reaction. The reaction requires 2 days of cooling in the fridge, so I could leave as soon as the reaction started running. I met up with pp and ser for lunch at East Ocean 东海 at Shaw Centre. Pp tried their dim sum before, and she said it was good, and so we went.. Below are some of the food we ordered..

teochew kungfu tea (extremely bitter!!)

pp said it can be used to clean up any residue taste..

to be eaten with the sweet sour sauce..

The canto dishes were all very oily and 重口味.. I don't quite like them, but I really love the cha siu sou (not featured here) and the pomfret porridge! Pp ordered an almond dessert to end the meal..

After that, we watched 花より男子 final at a very lok-kok cinema in Lido.. It was nice!! (: By then it was already 6plus.. We went to PS just so tt pp could see her idol, Louis Koo lol.. Louis Koo and 大S turned up at the atrium @ Orchard to promote their movie 保持通话. The event was scheduled at 7.45pm, but as usual they were late.. Right after the event, we took a bus back to Lido to watch the gala premier of 保持通话. The movie started at about 9.30pm..

I also saw many 'little stars' at the gala premier. Contestants from wei wu du zun, cai hua and superstar.. Seems that they can watch free movie all the time haha..

A super nice, must-watch action movie! All the actors and actresses did really well! The fighting scenes were well-collaborated.. There were also many dangerous stunts which Louis Koo did by himself.. For that, ppl should watch this movie in the cinema! Rating: A

La Mei Zi

Had dinner at this place to celebrate my sis's birthday.. The variety wasn't a lot, but it was rather cheap. $15 per person. I consumed a lot of crab and prawns haha.. There was also handmade dumplings that were exclusive at this place.. I went to another steamboat place at AMK last year, but somehow got stomach flu a few days later. The spread was a lot better there, and they serve ice-cream and free flow of drinks. I don't know if the stomach flu is linked to this shop, but I don't dare to go back to that shop again..

glovebox

I have no free day this wk.. so sad~ got to go lab everyday sigh~ I tried using the glove box today, but really cmi!! The black gloves will suck hands tightly..very difficult to manipulate the weighing of chemicals with so many layers of gloves! (a cloth one, a black one which is from the glovebox, and a green one on the outside) can't even feel my fingers, let alone pick up a dropper from the table.. gosh! I was sweating like hell in tt room..exerted too much force while trying to put on the gloves lol. It was an interesting experience though haha! ( I will upload the glovebox pic the next time)

Yeah I submitted the Gek proj today.. but it was yet another adventure. Ser and I had no idea where o & g service block was. We went down to basement of main building, only to end up in somewhere really weird and freaky (mortuary is nearby :S) We finally gave up and asked the info counter where tt place was.. It was at another end of nuh carpark la! We were sweating profusely by the time we reached the tutorial venue at 4pm..
